Let's face it, not a whole lot going on in Lapeer... If I'm able to get some people together, we can decide on a book and a restaurant to meet at to discuss said book.
This group is for you if you enjoy sitting on the porch or curled up on a chair drinking a beer and enjoying a great book. We are amateur book club celebrating great reads with great locally brewed beers. Once a month we will meet at a local brew pub (within 30 minutes) of Royal Oak to discuss our chosen monthly book. Join us for some great beer and great conversation (not too deep) about our read. Hope to see you there. CHEERS.

We find ourselves never needing a reason to finish a bottle of wine but needing a little push to finish that book on the nightstand, even if it is a good one. Join us on the third Monday of each month at the Rocky River Wine Bar for a book and wine meetup where we can all enjoy a good glass of wine and discuss the book of the month. NOTE: Due to many last minute cancellations, which keeps others who would have attended from being able to come, cancelling your yes RSVP within a week of the event …

In the opening words to the preface of the first edition of Critique of Pure Reason, Kant says that our reason burdens us with questions we cannot ignore, but questions we also cannot answer. That's pretty much Philosophy, isn't it? It's got us thinking about those big questions of the universe beyond the reaches of our ability to know the answers with any kind of certainty. Does Philosophy help us better understand the world? Do we think better after studying Philosophy? Did you ever find yours …

Bible and a Brew is an opportunity for people to share a good drink and a good conversation about faith, philosophy, theology, and life. Bible and a Brew developed out of a conversation between Bryon and Jennifer Harvey from Agape Ann Arbor. They wanted to provide a place where people could talk openly and honestly and ask real questions without feeling like they were being judged. For coffee lovers, we’ll be enjoying our favorite brew while discussing what it means to follow Jesus by looking at …
